As we look ahead to celebrating our 2nd birthday on 29th March, we can’t help but reflect on what an incredible year it has been. What a journey these past twelve months have been for our little shop. Full of growth, creativity, new faces, and plenty of projects!

The “Boardroom” – One Year On
We launched The Boardroom expansion on our 1st birthday, and what a year it has had! It has been incredible to see this space evolve, with so many beautiful new additions created from our gorgeous hardwoods.
Each piece that has left the workshop tells its own story. Crafted with care, character, and a whole lot of passion. Seeing these bespoke creations head off to their new homes never gets old.
Welcoming Hamish & New Creations
In the summer, we were delighted to welcome Hamish Renny to the team. Hamish began creating beautifully designed table leg kits from Douglas Fir timber, perfectly paired with our handcrafted tabletops.
Hamish hasn’t stopped since! We seem to have an ever-growing list of his product ideas, and he’s constantly dreaming up what to make next.

Taking the Shop on Tour
This summer, we packed up the shop and took it on the road! We had such a fantastic time attending the Nairn Show and The Black Isle Show.
A huge shout out to the sawmill team, who worked incredibly hard to tweak our handmade frame stand so we could take it with us. It was worth every effort — we met so many wonderful new people and had the best fun sharing what we do.
And we’re not stopping there…
Summer 2026 plans are already in motion!

A Very Special Shout Out to Thor
We absolutely must shout about Thor – the true highlight of our year.
Thor and his family regularly visit Logie Steading, and he never leaves without browsing the “Offcuts” shelf. He always picks up a couple of interesting pieces and then returns to show us the magic he has created from them.
His talent and creativity are something special.
This led to us inviting him to join us at the Christmas Market, where he had his very own stall. Beautifully displayed with all the handmade crafts he had created over the summer, it was an enormous success — he sold out on the very first day!
We are so proud to support such a talented young maker. We know he has a very bright future ahead of him, and we truly can’t wait to see what he creates next.
