What to expect:
Trysting Trees is a series of theoretical and creative workshops based on trees commonly found in the UK and Ireland. The project is an ongoing inquiry into plant connection, through the lens of artists, gardeners and foragers.
In this workshop join us in growing an attunement to scots pine and juniper through the following methods and mediums;
Making art materials using various parts of scots pine and juniper: plant dyes, inks, paints, papers, charcoal and mark making tools.
Medicinal properties: tinctures, wine, flower essences, tea infusions, syrups. How are scots pine and juniper known to be helpful in aiding human health.
Exploring significance of scots pine and juinper in culture and folklore.
Food, which parts of these species are edible and how.
Naming of scots pine and juniper, botanical and place specific.
Identification, habitat, how to grow/propagate.
How can we learn about scots pine and juniper’s integral role in the web of life.
Developing a personal relationship with scots pine and juniper, exploring various methods to remember significant properties each tree has that we can use to help us in daily life.
You will go away with a good selection of art materials made either prior to the workshop by us, or on the day, and an Old Mill Arts detailed notes all about scots pine and juniper.

Cancellation Policy:
If you wish to cancel your booking we will refund you 100% of your overall payment if you cancel 4 weeks or more before the start date of the workshop you wish to cancel. We will refund you 50% of your overall payment if you cancel less than 4 weeks before the start date of the workshop you wish to cancel, or arrange a rescheduling onto another course where possible. If you cancel less than 1 week before the start date of the workshop you wish to cancel we will retain 100% of your payment and give you a 40% discount for another workshop with the equivalent price.
