Bookshop

‘Books don’t just go with you, they take you where you’ve never been.’ -Anon

Logie Steading Bookshop stocks a diverse range of secondhand books covering subjects from crime to cookery, novels to nature, to name a few. We also have a wide selection of books for younger readers. For the explorers, we stock OS maps and travel books as well as some identification guides.

We stock a small range of new books, mostly with a Scottish theme, alongside a selection of books by local authors.

In addition, we have a few other interesting items on our shelves. For those looking for a gift, or to treat themselves, we have a beautiful range of notebooks, journals, bookmarks and book themed cards alongside games and jigsaws for young and alike.

We’re confident there’s something for everyone. Pop in for a browse; we’re always happy to help if you need it.

We sell books and we often buy them. If you have some you’d like to sell, we’re happy to have a look. We just respectfully ask that you contact us before bringing your books in to arrange a mutually suitable delivery time.

Whether you are a regular customer or a first-time visitor, we look forward to seeing you. If you love books, Logie Steading Bookshop is definitely a place to visit.

Scotland Loves Local Gift Cards – Accepted at Logie Bookshop!

The Scotland Loves Local campaign is a national initiative designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think, choose and spend local first. The Gift Card is unique to each area of Scotland, and can only be spent in businesses that have a ‘bricks and mortar’ presence in the local area – meaning that spending stays local for longer. It’s a great way to support local businesses and livelihoods. Visit www.scotlandgiftslocal.com for all the details.

Meet the owners

As the current caretakers of the Bookshop Jan and Stuart are delighted to be able to share their love of books with all visitors here at Logie.

Jan has a background in library and retail work and is a familiar face to many of the regular Steading visitors having worked in both the Bookshop and Art Gallery for a number of years.

After a life working in horticulture Stuart is looking forward to cultivating other interests.

When not working they enjoy spending time together exploring the wider area on two wheels, discovering places off the beaten track…but never too far from coffee and cake.
