Artist of the Month Exhibition: Jackie Hichens
5-29 July
I am native of Cornwall that draws her creative energy from the rich wildlife and stunning landscapes of West Penwith, where I spent my formative years. After fulfilling family responsibilities and contributing to my community, I seized the opportunity to delve into my true passion painting and drawing.
With a wealth of experience in the Cornish art scene, I, together with my family made the heartfelt decision to relocate to the Highlands of Scotland, to be closer to my daughter and grandchildren.
The dramatic Scottish terrain and diverse wildlife provided me with fresh inspiration, offering a departure from the familiar landscapes of my earlier work.
Now immersed in the vibrant art community of the Highlands, I actively participate in
local fairs, markets and with galleries, sharing my expertise through art and book binding workshops.
These workshops attract participants from across Scotland , offering them the opportunity to explore their creativity in breathtaking locations such as Logie Steading and Moniack Mhor Creative Writing Centre.
Welcome to my world of wildlife art that captures the essence of the natural world and with my passion and skill I hope brings to life, the beauty and majesty of the creatures big and small that I paint.
Exhibition runs from 4th November to 4th December
