After a year’s break we are returning to the Long Room for our fourth exhibition. The theme of reconnection still runs through the works on show – reconnecting with place, following our hearts for inspiration, looking for what excites us in the world around us and giving us the impetus and energy to respond in various ways.
Works exhibited are our personal explorations of structure, form, colour, texture and pattern in wood, paper, textiles and glass.
Artists’ Biographies
Anne and Morag met, as students studying at Glasgow School of Art with both graduating in Printed Textiles. After art school Anne ran a knitwear design/marketing business and was a lecturer in the Textiles Department of The Glasgow School of Art for over 20 years. In 2003 Anne began to pursue a long-held desire to work with glass for the quality of light and colour it embodies and since then has continued to work in textiles and glass.
Morag spent time as a freelance designer in London before moving north to Orkney and setting up a textile business. For 16 years she worked as lecturer and curriculum leader in art and design at Orkney College. Since leaving the college and moving to Moray, Morag has continued to work in textiles, print and mixed media.
Both Anne and Morag continue to hold exhibitions and run workshops in Scotland.
