The Square Room Gallery

7 June – 1 July: Jill Mackenzie

Working from her studio near Keith in the North East of Scotland, Jill creates mixed media paintings.

Her inspiration comes from the surrounding countryside and beautiful coastline, where she collects sketches,  photographs and memories.  These are all brought back to the studio where many layers are added to the canvas, using paper collage, acrylic paint, pastels, ink and more.

Look closely and you will be able to identify interesting mark making and textures - bringing life to the canvas.

This exhibition is the result of a lifelong passion for painting, combined with experimentation in recent years.
