28th May – 4th June: Art and Photography by Gill and Ian Williams

Gill and Ian Williams are practicing artists residing within the beautiful Abernethy Forest. Gill is an award-winning photographer and artist. Her paintings are associated with the Royal Society of Miniature Artists. Ian completed a fine art degree in 2001, his creativity covers several disciplines including, pottery, painting and wood sculptures.

Ian’s latest wood sculptures are mainly bog wood, date tested to up to 6500 years old and mainly from the Glen Affric area, he sees everyday items within the wood, others might find different forms. His latest paintings are mainly created using Indian ink and metallic paints, embroidered text are found within the work, messages for the viewers.

Ian’s pottery expresses his love of life underwater, urchins, jellyfish. Most pieces are hand built in earthenware, stoneware and porcelain clay.

Gill is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a love of Scottish scenery and nature. Her photographs are mainly landscapes, aurora, underwater and wildlife. Her paintings are taken from her photography. She loves detail and enjoys producing miniature paintings on tiny canvasses, ceramic alumina, clam shells and pebbles. She is always outdoors exploring and always has a camera with her.

Both Gill and Ian are excited to showcase their work in the Long Room at the Logie Steading. They are always happy to chat about their work and hope that you enjoy their first joint exhibition showcase of their latest creative work.
