The Dava Way

Logie Steading is approximately a mile off the Dava Way and makes a good stopping off point for cyclists or more adventurous walkers, or those only looking to do a section of the 24 mile route linking Forres and Grantown-on Spey

Almost all of the route follows the old Highland Railway line with fantastic views of open countryside – moorland, farmland and woodland too. Most of it is off road and is suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. We have done several sections as family with a fairly sturdy 3 wheeled buggy and, while it’s no pavement, it’s mostly fairly firm underfoot and very doable thanks to the efforts of the Dava Way Association who put in many hours of maintenance along the path.

For long distance walkers the Dava Way provides a link between the Speyside Way in the south and the Moray Firth Trail to the north.

Much more information including maps and route descriptions can be found on the Dava Way website.

A dedicated and way-marked link path between the Dava Way, Logie Village and Primary School and Logie Steading is currently being designed so access will become easier and clearer in the near future.
