The octagaonal gloriette known as the ‘Glory Octo’, made by the Laings’ son Alec, looks on to the burn where it enters the garden, with sarcococca, Christmas box, next to it for winter scent. To R of the burn is pink persicaria, with the fading blooms and attractive leaves of rodgersia above it and green bergenia below. Also planted are hostas, Corydalis elata, prunella and omphalodes.
