Inspired by Scotland’s wildness + flora + culture. SPÈ Atelier creates artful soy-wax candles and aromatics using botanicals of Scotland. Handcrafted in the heart of Speyside using all-natural ingredients which produce therapeutic and natural aromas.
Founded in Speyside, SPÈ Atelier candles and botanical products are artisanally created by Scottish/Canadian Yvonne Duncan-Mandel, with advisory partner Douglas Mandel.
SPÈ Atelier will also offer an exciting selection of botanical inspired home interior products which complement our artisanal items, with a focus on Scottish craft items, and a twist of Canadian special items.

Both luxury design professionals; Yvonne specialises in design + interiors. Douglas is a luxury industry executive working with brands such as Christian Dior Couture, LVMH, Assouline NY. Yvonne + Douglas owned and designed the award winning Canadian KAMKYL Men’s Collection + KAMKYL Urban Atelier.
Yvonne is inspired by the connection between the Fifth Sense olfactory – smell and our emotive memories. She was introduced to the artisanal craft of candle dipping by a local instructor at summer camp in Loch Lomond.
Life’s journey has taken Yvonne to from Scotland to London, Canada, New York, Germany and Russia, however Scotland is always home.
“My childhood memories were formed in the Northeast of Scotland; summer days exploring rock pools along the beach in Findochty and seal watching at Findhorn. Family trips to the Western Isles and lots of hill walking”.
All these memories contribute to the scent creation and story told in each SPÈ Candle.
